Kentucky has a good number of caves to explore like Mammoth Caves National Park and the Diamond Caverns.  The Diamond Caverns were discovered in 1859 and are privately owned.
They are wet caverns which means they are constantly developing. They feature intricate drapery deposits lining the halls in cascades of naturally colorful calcite.
