Adventure Review
We went to Washington Township Park to explore their mountain bike trails in August 2011. We made it to the park by 9am and wanted to ride for a couple of hours before the summer day heated up. We rode the following trails:
- Oriole
- Bluebird
- Sparrow
- Sycamore
- Eaglesway
All these trails are rated as beginner trails and vary from .2-.6 miles in length. The trails are dirt, single track and mostly level. Each of these trails are located in wooded areas and easy to navigate. If you consider the size of this park, these mountain bike trails are well designed and accomodate several biking skill levels. The signage is very good for the trails, however they were out of trail maps the day we rode. Below is my list of positives and negatives for the beginner trails.
POSITIVES:
- Trails are in good shape
- Several of the trails run along the edge of Whitelick Creek (scenic)
- Wooded trails keep the summer heat bearable
- Good signage
NEGATIVES:
- Length of trails is very short
- We missed riding a couple of trails since we had no trail map
We enjoyed this bike ride and recommend it for those who want to get in a few trails in a short period of time. We will be returning to try some of the other trails that we missed. This park also has a few advanced trails for experienced riders. Below is a link to the park’s trail map:
