Adventure Review
We were looking for a campground close to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. Our stay would be the first weekend of June. We looked online for a convenient and reasonably priced campground. We chose Camp Sandusky for our 2 night stay in northern Ohio. We chose a tent site with electricity. They have primitive, and premier tent sites, as well as RV camping and cabin rentals. Below is our list of positives and negatives for our camping experience.
POSITIVES:
- Only a 10 minute drive to Cedar Point theme park
- Weather was fantastic
- Camping rate was reasonable
- McDonald’s and a gas station right across from the campground
NEGATIVES:
- Road noise is bad at night near the front half of the campground
- If you arrive late they will put you in a temporary site up near all the road noise
- Bathrooms need a screen door to keep the bugs out of the bathroom. This problems was particularly bad the time of year that we arrived. The hatch for this insect must have been very recent, because the bugs were all over the bathroom.
I recommend that you reserve a spot at the back of the campground if you plan to stay here in a tent and are a relatively light sleeper.
