Adventure Review
We stayed at Lighthouse Point in Bull Shoals, Arkansas for 6 days as a family vacation in 2011. This place is the quintessential “lake cabin”!! We absolutely LOVED it!! We had 2 full beds, a fully stocked kitchenette with a microwave and a bathroom with a stand up shower. The view from the back deck was the kind that makes you want to get up early and watch the sunrise every morning with your cup of coffee, then be there for the sunset every night too! We brought most of our meals, and had plenty of room in the refrigerator to store them. The cabin was very clean and we were given fresh towels everyday. You can see Bull Shoals Lake Boat dock from the cabins. It’s just a short drive down there so if you plan any water activities, it’s very accommodating. There is a pool that goes from 3-8 ft which is clean and had plenty of lounge chairs and seats available as well as a covered table. There is room for vehicles with boats if you bring your own. The rooms can be adjoining if you need more space. There is also a house available for rent that houses around 10 people I think. We saw a family come in towards the end of the week and it looked like there was a lot of people staying there!
Our stove died one evening mid-week and the very next day I had a brand new one installed. We also locked ourselves out of our cabin one evening and the lady who cleans the rooms was available to get us back in!! The boat dock was very responsive to our every need and told us that if we needed anything to let them know…. They are open from 6am to 10pm.
There is a huge covered area that had 4 picnic tables and 8 grills with ALL the utensils needed for grilling available by the pool. There was always a breeze, especially in the evening, so it made it very nice for grilling out! When we made our reservations, we didn’t realize that there were grills available and we had one given to us from Outdoor Rooms to use and review, so we took it with us and used it the two nights we grilled out. The video attached to this review explains the Cook Number Traveler Grill, which was very portable and easy to use! You can check out their website at www.outdoorrooms.com and see more information on the broad range of grills and other furniture to make your outdoor space beautiful!
The neighborhood around the Inn is quiet and very safe. My son and I walked a few mornings and we were watched by lots of deer and squirrels! It was nice to walk around and see lots of different views of the lake. It’s also a short walk to the boat dock and we walked down there a few nights for ice cream as well! There are TONS of things to do in Bull Shoals. The town itself has some great restaurants, a grocery store, antique shops and a small dinner theater. There are lots of caves in Bull Shoals as well. You can rent pontoon boats, jet skis, houseboats, from Bull Shoals Lake Boat Dock. They also do awesome guided bow fishing trips and White River fishing trips. We took our kids on these and the guides were great with them. I’ve got reviews under the fishing section of OXR if you want to read the reviews on them. There is also a super nice visitors center at the Dam that we went to on two separate nights just for the view and gift shop!! I guess Bull Shoals Dam is the 5th biggest Dam in the United States!! Our kids loved it!!
Lighthouse Point is part of Bull Shoals Lake Boat Dock. The number to make reservations is 1-870-445-4424. We will definitely be coming back here to stay!! We thoroughly enjoyed it!!
