Adventure Review
I have not camped in a tent since I was a pre-teen so I was unsure of what to expect of this experience. Our friends invited us to camp along with them the first weekend in October. We only stayed one night, October 2nd, due to schedule conflicts.
We arrived in late afternoon and found our campsite to be delightful. Our site was #13. It was wooded, we had privacy and it was a very short walk to the bathrooms. We set up our tents, built a fire in the fire ring provided and heated up a yummy soup our friend had made for dinner.
The campground was busy but that didn’t hamper our night. The bathrooms were fairly clean. There were just many people using them. The night was cold with temperatures dropping into the 30’s but we were prepared with long johns and blankets so we stayed toasty all night long. Our king size air mattress was very comfy. I could not have slept without it.
The next morning we heated up biscuits and gravy that I had made ahead and then packed up and set out on a trail. We hiked trail #8. This was an easy and pleasant hike which was good. We weren’t up for anything strenuous and were able to chat with our friends and enjoy the beauty of the leaves beginning to change. This was a great way to re-introduce myself into camping again.
