Adventure Review

We went to Colorado in September of 2009.  I planned out a surprise fun trip that would change our lives forever.  My goal for the trip was to hike to the top of Mt. Elbert, the highest mountain in the Rockies, and propose to her.  My other goal was to find a place to stay that would be comfy and convenient.  I scoured the internet.  I looked at advisor sites, I picked through tons of vacation rentals, and much more.  I narrowed my search down to 2 places in Twin Lakes.  I wanted to try a Bed & Breakfast since I had never been to one in my life.

I ended up choosing Ores & Mines Bed and Breakfast.  I loved the rustic cabin decor and the mining theme that John and Donna worked hard to create.  The rooms were a fair price and we stayed in 2 different rooms.  The “Matchless” was good room with nice views of the surrounding mountains and Twin Lakes.  On top of all that and the best part of staying there was our hosts.  John & Donna were fabulous hosts!  They were friendly, honest, and good cooks.  Andrea and I felt like family with our hosts.  I would definitely recommend that people looking for lodging in this area to stay at Ores & Mine B&B.  In the Twin Lakes area you can hike, fish, hunt, sight see, and more.
