This past June I had the privilege of fishing with Capt. Rhett Morris of Beyond Borders Outfitters out of Punta Gorda, FL for the filming of one of our Outdoor Channel Outfitters television shows. Capt. Rhett is hands down the best charter/guide I’ve ever had the opportunity to fish with. Every time I’ve chartered him, he’s put us on fish, even when none of the other guides were catching a single thing. We fished with Capt. Rhett for 2 days in June, jumping 27 Tarpon in a day and a half. It was a phenomenal experience, certainly not for the weak! Those tarpon will wear you slap out! In the afternoon of day two we went nearshore fishing for shark, Goliath grouper, barracudas and king mackerel, I managed to boat a 6′ shark and the gang caught many Goliath grouper, cudas and kings. The show has already aired in 3rd quarter, but stay tuned as it will re-air in 4th quarter on Outdoor Channel.
