Adventure Review
We had originally planned a trip to the Gulf coast but had to change plans quickly due to the oil spill. We chose Myrtle Beach b/c it was only a 13 hour drive. We stayed in North Myrtle Beach at the Oceanpoint I. It was a 3 bedroom condo right on the beach. I loved the direct view from our balcony and the sliding doors off the living room and master bedroom. We were on the 4th floor which we loved b/c it gave us a nice view yet not too high to be fearful for the kids safety. It had both an indoor and outdoor pool. Nothing fancy but the kids loved the indoor pool for some reason. The beach was VERY crowded but I think that’s how Myrtle Beach is. The ocean was very warm and shallow and fun for all of us to play in. The waves were fun for the kids but not too strong which was good. We brought our large canopy and set it up on the beach daily. It was great to have a place to be in the shade and keep our cooler, camera and other items out of the sun. We didn’t do much around town except shop for souveniers and go out to dinner. We went to The Original Benjamin’s Calabash restaurant. It had a super fun atmosphere. We were greeted by a pirate who gave the kids beads to wear. Inside was a ramp leading to the hostess table with a replica of the Queen Elizabeth ship. The kids had fun looking at it though our wait wasn’t long. We got there when it opened otherwise it would have been forever! Downstairs there was an amazing play area that they all enjoyed. I will post pics. And of course the best part was the food! I have never seen so much food in my life. Every kind of seafood and other food was available. It was a buffet so the kids could choose anything they wanted. They loved the crab legs, the desserts and hushpuppies. We were stuffed beyond comprehension and it was a bit pricey but worth it. Overall it was a great family vacation!!
