Adventure Review

We took a guided boat tour out to do some snorkeling off the coast of Montego Bay, Jamaica in July, 2010.  We had a group of approx 40 people, ages 9-mid 50’s.  They supplied all our lifejackets and  snorkeling equipment so there’s no need to take your own, unless you want to.  Several types of fish, jellyfish, and coral were visualized.  There was also a huge dropoff that several people swam to.

The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.  They served drinks on the way out and on the way back to the dock. They got in the water with us and swam around showing us several types of fish and things to look for of interest!

Our 9 year old had a blast, and didn’t want to come back in! He did great using the fins and caught on quickly using the mask and snorkel. Our 11 year old wasn’t as adventerous.  They had a large raft attached to the back of the boat, so we sat on that and looked over the edge so she still was able to see some fish.

The guide we used is located in Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville in Montego Bay. They also have a lot of entertainment in Margaritaville as well, so you could literally spend the whole day there!!

The views are absolutely stunning in Jamaica.  This is an eXcellent adventure and I would recommend doing this if you ever travel to Montego Bay.
