Adventure Review
We were in Charlotte North Carolina for NSA Softball Nationals the end of July 2010. Charlotte is home to more than just NASCAR as we were surprised to find the U.S National Whitewater Center. This is a man-made facility created to train Olympic athletes in rafting, kayaking and other water sports. Very cool place in that you can experience class 5 whitewater as well as climb rock walls, conquer fears of height with a 40 ft. mega jump, zip lines or mountain biking. You can choose your adventure!! We were a little nervous about how good man-made facility could be, but other members of our party that are experienced rafters thought this facility ranked very high in providing the ‘REAL’ experience. We had 3 families in our group and the facility was able to accomodate us without any issues, children too. I am not sure I would plan a vacation specifically around this activity but if you happen to be in the area…don’t miss out. Great experience!
