Adventure Review
In July on a teen mission trip we hiked to the top of the La Soufriere, the volcano on St. Vincent Island. Our group consisted of a range of ages from 9 to 41. The hike is moderate in difficulty, and everyone in our group made it to the top. We were able to hike right up to the rim of the crater and see the lava dome. This volcano’s crater is approximately 1 mile wide and 1 mile in length. It is the second most studied volcano on planet earth. The height of La Soufriere is 4049 ft. above sea level. The volcano is located on the northern end of the Island.
I highly recommend this hike. It was a very unique adventure and the scenery is simply beautiful. Here are a few of the positives of this hike:
- Scenery is breath taking
- Moderate difficulty makes it accessible for most people
- This eXperience is one you won’t forget
- Good clear trail and easy to follow
- Several good break areas to rest

This hike sounds very much up my alley. That kids can safely do it has really put it up my list of easy hikes. Well done!

Hi,
Looks great. Presumably you needed to book a local guide?
Carol.

You are right Carol. There are local guides who will show you the way to the top of La Soufriere.
