Adventure Review

Rock Bridge was suggested to us as a don’t want to miss hiking trail in the Red River Gorge area of Daniel Boone National Forest.  This loop trail is 1.4 miles in length and is mostly paved.  The pavement is by no means smooth like you would think.  It was kind of  a rough texture, but it did keep our feet from getting muddy in the rainy weather.  We thought the trail was mostly light to occasional moderate in difficulty.  The trail is well marked with signs, so navigating the trail is easy.

Our first scenic stop was at Creation Falls.  This is a beautiful spot to stop and take some pictures and video.  Due to the rain we have limited pictures, but it was very pretty even in the foul weather.  It has to be an unbelievable sight when the sun is shining.

The second scenic stop was Rock Bridge.  It was another wonder of God’s creation.  The creek had eroded a natural rock bridge.  We were amazed to see the creek flowing through this sheer rock bridge.  Sorry, our camera died at this point of our hike.

After the Rock Bridge the trail loops around and has a couple of scenic views of the cliffs and valleys.

Be sure to allow time on this hike to just spend some time at both Creation Falls and Rock Bridge.   This was our favorite trail among the half dozen we trails we hiked.  We would recommend this trail to anyone as a must see in the Red River Gorge area hikes.
