Adventure Review
I’ve always wanted to try hog hunting. I have a buddy that went a lot, so i gave him a call. I had a chance to take my son, Cole. We decided to use archery equipment so that meant my son would need a bow. It was going to be a push to get him ready but he was up to the challenge. The trip would take us from our home town in Indiana to Stonewall, Oklahoma. It’s approximately a 12 hour trip and we arrived around 8:30 in the evening. They have several cabins and one house available for your stay. We chose the house so we could have air conditioning and showers. It’s $25.00 more per night but it was well worth the cost. There are 2 cabins and they share an outhouse and the shower is an outdoor shower.
The hunt itself cost $325.00 per hunter for bow. If you gun hunt, it’s an extra $100.00. You must bring all your food and make your own meals. There is a kitchen cabin if you don’t stay in the house. The house has a full kitchen available.
Orientation with Matt is mandatory. He does this around noon the day of your first hunt. He is very good at explaining the workings of the ranch and what is expected of the hunter. Once our orientation was complete, our excitement for the evening hunt was at a high!! After our first encounter with the hogs that night, we were pumped!!!
After two days of hunting, my son and I were totally addicted! I wasn’t successful at this hunt, but my son and I have already booked a hunt for this October. I am also going next spring to Pork-a-Poolooza with fellow hunter Mike Neilson. This was the first hunt my son and I have been on overnight together. It was a very enjoyable time and we had some great bonding time.
A special thanks goes to Matt and Cheryl Napper for being such awesome hosts. The camp is very professional and the accommodations are outstanding. I’m looking forward to staying in the cabins this fall and building some great relationships with Matt and Cheryl.
This hunt was a total blast. We saw lots of hogs and had a great time. I would definitely suggest this hunt to anyone who is looking for an affordable hog hunt.

C’mon man! Tell them the rest of the story from the October hunt. You know you want to and you know Cole does to. It was the eXperience of a lifetime with the eXception that you can always go again. This would be a perfect opportunity for the whole family!
