Adventure Review
I can spell fun in a new four letter word after this eXperience. I think I will put it in slogan form: Just TUBE! We did just that this winter at Keystone’s Adventure Point Tubing hill in Keystone, Colorado. We took a group of 9 on this adventure. We were looking for something to do other than ski since we all needed to give our legs a rest. We called Keystone 3 days in advance to get our reservation. We had previously tried to just show up at another resorts tubing hill and were turned away because we had no reservations and they had no openings available. Lesson learned…make reservations.
We were told by word of mouth from some locals that Keystone had a really good tubing hill. Once we arrived we had to go to the Mountain Service Center to pick up our tubing tickets. The tickets are $31 per hour for each person. We were told to arrive at noon at the Mountain Service Center since we had tubing reservations from 1pm-2pm. After you get your tickets you ride the gondola to the last station. Adventure Point tubing is just behind the big snow castle to the left of where you get off the gondola. Look for the Yurt (a round tent looking structure).
The registration at the yurt is quick and there is a short safety/instructional video. After the video, choose your tube and get in the tubing lane of your choice. There are 6 lanes to choose from. It took us about 10 minutes to get down the hill and and up for another run. You can ride single, double, triple and even as a group of four! Additionally, before the staff member releases you down the hill they ask if you want to go straight or spin down the hill. Try both for maximum fun!
We had a blast. I asked one of the staff how fast the average person goes down the hill and he stated it was about 30mph. This tubing adventure was 2 thumbs up in my opinion. Almost anyone can enjoy this experience. The tubing hill is a 11,500 feet elevation and the views of the surrounding mountains are incredible.
Positives about this eXpereience:
- Friendly staff
- Great views
- Quality facility
- Tons of Fun
Helpful Tips:
- Make reservations a few day in advance
- Dress warm
- Take cameras and video

[...] In summary, we enjoyed our skiing at Keystone. It is easy to see why people like this ski area. The facilities and the staff were excellent. The runs were good but a little crowded and narrow in spots. We would love to ski Keystone during a time outside of the holiday peak busy time. I would recommend Keystone to anyone wanting to ski, snowboard or tube.
